Farmers First
Delivering Impact to the Last Mile
Who We Are
GreyMatter is an India-based agri-fintech startup, winner of Social Alpha Agritech Challenge 2021.
We directly work with farmers on a panchayat level “Community Commerce & Financing Model”. Due to small land size, most of the smallholder farmers don’t have enough working capital at the time of sowing to buy quality agriculture inputs. So they either compromise on the quality of agricultural inputs or take loans from local moneylenders at extortionary rates.
We cater to farmers' needs through our land size-based service packages. . Enrolled farmers get quality agricultural inputs delivered at the village level, agri-advisory services to improve their yield, and post-harvest support to get a better price for their harvest. We started our operations from East Champaran in Bihar as One Acre Fund pilot project and have now spin-off into GreyMatter Technologies.
We are currently associated with 2,500+ farmers with 3,500+ acres under our service package. So far, we have delivered ₹ 80 million worth of services on credit. We believe that serving smallholder farmers in India presents one of the greatest opportunities for scale and impact in both agricultural and financial inclusion today.
